Lowercase i(con)

The lamp looks better with a shade
Softens the glow
Simplifies the glistening
Impurities receive less–attention
Refill the oil, replace the bulb
Because a light disengaged from the fuel
Is like a soul torn from it’s maker.

The eye sees farther with a lens
Sharpens the detail
Stretches the vision
Peripherals receive less–focus
Restore the clear, remove the dust
Because a sight distorted by distraction
Is like sleep less the dreaming.

The day works better with a night
Stirs the fears
Supersedes the lull
Monotony receives less–stability
Rethink the truth, release the doubt
Because a life divided by me
Is like an uppercase I in salvation.
